Is there any stamped rockers out there that can withstand 400lbs+ open pressure? My HR cam is still a little noisy, and I like quiet, real quiet. I currently have GMPP RR's, and there seems to be a lot of "slop" in the trunnion area, my bet is that the noise is coming from this area.

If you want ball fulcrum rockers that aren't rubbery sheet metal, look at the Comp 1400 series.

I was told the same thing locally by machinest. Also haven't heard much in the rocker business from Crower. What about Crowers Steel rockers? They makek a great product and i'd imagine they make reliable, quiet rockers.

The Carbo Nitrided Cranes and then have them Meta-Laxed. Worked wonders when I had customers "bending" the rules with solid rollers in circle track application...

AFAIK all of Crower's rockers are rollers.

The original poster has Crane. Of course, what he has are aluminum, and not the best ones, at that. Not a good choice for a street motor at all. Sounds like he thinks he wants ball fulcrum rockers because he thinks they'll make less noise.

I'd avoid ANY KIND of stamped sheet metal, if it matters to you how it runs. Those give up too much lift by their flexing, and are grossly inconsistent. Or, try a higher quality, STEEL roller rocker, either Comp or Crower. I'd also avoid the cheeep chinese knock-offs like CAT.

Heard of people misdiagnoise noise that was instead of the retainer lightly hitting inside of the rocker arm.

I thought the Comp Titanium where good , pricey but good.

I've always thought aluminum was quieter than steel.

Plenty of retainer to rocker clearance. These seem like a quality piece though. I think that little bit of slop in the trunnion is to allow for slight misalignment between the rocker stud and valve stem tip.

This is what I have (top of the page):
