BBC DON Jan 31st, 00, 4:49 PM I am reconditioning my fuel tank, and I have surface rust on the bottom. What is the most effective method of removing the rust, before I paint the tank. You can purchase a number of "surface rust" removers from local auto parts stores for initial cleaning. Most of these mix with water and make for a simple clean-up. Then I would suggest checking the POR-15 site http://www.por15.com and purchasing their products for the final restoration. They have complete information on how to use their products and in what order.
