It says on the comp cam card that if you are running double valve springs like Im doing in my 396 that you should take out the inner spring during cam break in.How many of you did this or might think thats its not a big deal.If I have too I will buy the $42 tool from summit to take off the springs while in the car so as not to hurt the cam.

I would recommend removing the inner spring during break in. Why take a chance?

Yes, remove the inner spring, most cam manufacturers also have break in springs available.
