Isn't it funny how the simplest job on these cars can drive you crazy?
So I'm lying under the 66 on a piece of plywood to change the oil, getting it ready to fire up after 16 years.
I'm on the ground with the crossmember in my face, so I can only use one arm. I can't get a good enough bite on the drain plug with the socket to loosen it up, 'cause the gasket has squished out around the head. So I try my piece of * Chinese "Vicegrips". No dice.
It's about 105+ degrees out and I'm getting hot and pissed. I finally decide to break off the squished out part of the gasket, and Voila!, plug comes out no problem.
One hour plus, not to mention much cursing, for a 10-15 minute job. Aaaargh! This is the kind of stuff that drives me nuts. And this is the easy part; I can't wait for the body/interior work to begin. :D

OH Dave it gets better!! YEAH RIGHT. Theres no such thing as a 15 min job. When working on these cars. I bought a custom streeting wheel. I had me & a friend trying to get the horn button on. We tried off & on for over an hour. Next day we messed with again. No dice. So when I went to the car Craft nat's. !st vendor inside the gate. Was them. Here trying this o ring!! next day. We lube it. goes right in and stay there. aaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhh!!!!! so I know what you mean.

THis about sounds like my kinda luck. I've been outside trying to put headers on the 69 Charger for 3 hours. I just came in 10 minutes ago. They simply won't fit right. I thought the engine mounts could be a problem, so I changed them, no dice. I shifted the trans mount over a tad, nope roll again. I know they fit as I've seen them on other 68-70 big block Chargers I just can't figure it out. It's probably something stupid too.

the fun thing about putting headers in is that they always just kind of fall into place just as you are getting ready to dump 5 gallons of gas on and in the car and throw in a match and just walk away..

tom ..... I probbly shouldn't tell you this .... remove spark plugs, take out motor mount thru bolt jack car about 3 feet off ground, remove starter place floor jack with a peice of wood under oil pan jack up about 1-2 inchs (warring watch fan to shroud ) ok now slide header in from under car .. have a freind hold header up while you slide starter back in ...lower motor while keeping starter & header in place.... once motor is back on mount reinstall starter & finish installing headers ......... don't worry it took me all weekend the first time I put a set in a B body With an RB motor :)

I got them in there easily, the problem is the one tube is literally sitting on the PS box. The header is bolted up to head even. I sent an email to the techs at Holley to see if they can figure this out.
