I have a '99 Cherokee box that I haven't bolted in yet. Is this one the fast ratio box too? Everyone posts that the 92-98 box is the one to get, but what about the 99-04? It turns about 3.2 turns lock to lock. Also, I checked a site that sells steering boxes and the 99, 98 have the same part #. ??
There are part numbers stamped all over it, there must be some way to tell.
Thanks,

OK, I can answer my own question. The Cherokee box is not a fast ratio box (at least this one I have). I checked it last night with a degree wheel. the input shaft turns about 3.35 x 360/86 degrees pitman arm travel = 14:1 ratio.
Not a slow box but not fast.

Your calculations are correct. The 1999 Cherokee power gear has a 14:1 ratio. I am trying to get some additional information on that gear from an engineer at Saginaw. I left him a phone message today. Hopefully I will have some more information by tomorrow.

99 Grand Cherokee box is not the same as the 98. I own a 99 Grand. They don't even look the same.
