Was looking at AFR's site. The only ovals on the site are the 265cc as cast / 290cc CNC Oval port magnums. Are these the oval heads people are waiting for / to become availble for sale, or is there a "different" BBC AFR oval in the makings? Curious is all, did note the the ones on the site have raised exhaust ports, kinda screws with most header installs. Any AFR guru's out there?

Also, would be wanting to know what all is available in an al BBC oval head with exhuast ports at standard height?

How about the oval Pro Filers? Brodix race rites?

Dart has oval port heads and their exhaust port is only raised .300" My headers fit perfect, no dinging either. My engine builder ported my set, came out at 302cc. Heres some specs if they were done by Dart................

You may want to consider the Brodix BB-O with CNC chambers they come with various chamber size's to optimize your compression, exhaust port at stock location , with right combo they work very well graemlins/thumbsup.gif ..... talk to Mike Lewis on here aka Wolplace about your combo.... AFR's are excellent too Mike sells/ uses alot of them and he will know what is avaialble from AFR FWIW

undee70ss,

That looks like a pretty efficient head. They should make some real good power. Do you have any independent flow numbers from your heads?

I am using Holley alum oval ports on my new 491. Std. exhaust port. With minor cleanup they flowed 305/235 @ .600 with 2.19/1.88 valves. Maybe not AFR league, but I am hoping for 630-650 HP with a decent solid roller. Will find out pretty soon.

Craig,
The AFR is not available & will not be in the foreseeable future.
The AFR exhaust is raised .375 so it is not normally an issue.
I would look at the Brodix Race Rite. It is in my opinion the best oval head out there right now.
It will flow an honest hi 340 to low 350, has a 270cc intake port & the exhaust is in the stock location.
In contrast, the Ede roval with a 290cc intake port flows about 315 which is about what a very well ported set of factory ovals will flow.

There are a few members on here that can attest to the quality of the Brodix heads.
I sell both the AFR & Brodix.
If you email me I have pretty good pricing on both. ;)

Profiler 23 degree heads could be another option.
