Gentlemen,
I have posted an ad about trading my truck for an Elky on Team Chevelle and Racing Junk and I had a gentleman in Missouri e-mail me about this 70 Elky to trade. The link will not take you directly to the Elky but select Chevy and El Camino.

Looks pretty clean. Any thoughts on the particulars to ask about the car and things to look out for? What particular parts of the car should I be gettig very close pictures of? Also, anyone live in Malden, MO or close that could take a close personal look at the car? Thanks.

My 70 El Camino has rust in floorboards and the area right behind the rear tires. I got mine in MO.

Really needs a good looking over in person, IMO.

Not too many around Missouri & Kansas that aren't pretty rusty but there are a few.

Ask if anyone on this site is close enough to go look at the car for you.

Ask lots of questions and have seller provide documentation. When he says the motor was "freshened" does that mean he spent 30 min and a spray can of chevy orange or was the motor rebuilt in some way. Looks like a decent cars but I would not buy anything sight unseen, especially from a dealer.

Hey guys, thanks for the input. I put quite a few questions back at him right after I posted here this morning. He called me this evening and said he really looked the car over. Supposed to be clean, about 4 rust spots, back edge of front and rear wheel wells. According to what he saw the floor pans and frame are good. He did not truly answer the # of miles question. The car was original AC but the controls are gone in the dash. He was a nice guy. He did say he had a guy driving over from Kansas in the morning.

Is there anyone close to Malden, MO that can go look at this car? If so, I would greatly appreciate any help. He is supposed to elt me know what happens tomorrow with the Kansas guy. I will update once I know. Thanks again for all fo the info. Good stuff.

Pretty close to the Missouri-Kentucky-Tennessee-Arkansas borders.
432 miles from me.

That 65 Impala SS convert seems a pretty reasonable price too I notice.:)
