I don't know if it's just here, but I've noticed lately that kids sports teams seem to be taking the easy road on fundraising. Instead of holding a carwash, or selling fundraising tickets or snackfoods, or anything else, they instead hang out at high traffic intersections and hold out minnow nets to collect cash from passing cars. The same corners that during the week, the bums panhandle from. I refuse to give a dime to them, almost feel like telling the adults that they're teaching these kids the wrong lesson. They're teaching them that there's no need to work towards your goals when there are so many people that'll reach in their pockets and give them money. Anyone else see this? I see it almost every weekend, and it's not limited to one spot.

What is just as bad is the schools. We pay for play because of the tight budget. We don't mind that. what else happens is each team has a fund raiser on top of that. they all seem to sell the same thing, discount cards. you can set your calender by the sports season. on top of that they do other things. football players have a Lift-a-ton, the basketball players have free throw shoot and on and on. they say it's for the program but never tell you where the money goes. I'm on the booster club we raise and give out a ton, 10s of thousands of dollars every year. so do we keep getting hit up for all the stuff?

I really hate the people collecting money at intersections. I don't care what cause they are collecting for. It messes up traffic, particularly durnig rush hour (which is more like rush 3 hours here)
