I've got a 70 chevelle and the e brake pedal is stuck all the way to the floor. I believe the cable is stuck somewhere in the firewall. All of the lines have been disconnected in the back so that I can drive it but I need to get this fixed ASAP for inspection. Does anyone have any idea what could cause this and how to fix it? I was going to unbolt the whole assembly but figured I would ask first for an easier fix, maybe some PB blaster? Thanks for any help.

Your front cable (the one that runs from the pedal to the intermediate cable under the car) is probably siezed up inside the housing. Get that cable out and see if you can loosen it up or simply replace it.
