I was going to get the 40 series flowmasters for my 350 4bbl, but then i heard about the super 40's that flowmaster makes now. Does anyone have any info about em?

Where did I say that I hated flowmasters? What I meant was every Mustang you see has flowmasters on it. From my experience, the Dynomax is a much more free flowing muffler. By all means, buy flowmasters and while you're at it,why don't you go to their website and read up on it? I used to have a link to a website that showed the difference, seems like it was an Oldsmobile website. FYI this site isnt the holy grail, its okay to do some research on YOUR own,if you're able to graemlins/thumbsup.gif

The 40 Series are great. I have them on my 454 $ bbl. and they sound great at all RPM's. At idle they are quiet, but you can definatley hear the cam. At WOT throttle the sound resembles a dragster. (So maybe im exagerating, but it is a beautiful sound :D ). Hope this helps,
Chris

I have the Flowmaster 40's called Delta Flow, those are the new ones. Hooker Super Comps 1 7/8 with my Brodix Headed SB 406.
Idle they sound great, WOT sounds more like a NASCAR, than a dragster, real nice sound to them at any RPM. I drive the street all the time and the noise police don't bother me at all. Forget listening to tunes, but who does when you have that kind of cammed sound anyway. On the Chassis Dyno I had a big gang gather around, they all liked what they heard, general concensuss was " Very Healthy Sounding Small Block" They all wanted to know what the muffler system was.
Pipe is 2 1/2 in and out, could have stood 3", but 2 1/2 sets off car alarms just fine.

I had the new Flowmaster 3 inch kit with the 40 series installed a couple of months ago. They sound awesome. Ecspecially at WOT I haven't talked to one person with a negative comment about the way they sound. Not that it would matter to me anyway. By the way I replaced the ever wonderous Dynomax ultra flow mufflers. I haven't heard the other 40's though.

I just ordered one last week...I'll let ya know how it sounds. I had a pair of regular 40's on my '70, so I should be able to tell the difference. (I hope)
