Hello,I am new to this site but not new to Chevelles.I still own my matching number 350hp 1970 SS 4 speed Chevelle I bought in High school in 1985.He wanted $1000 bucks for it but traded a 74 duster plus $200 to boot.At the time I didnt know antyhing about numbers.Just happy it had 4 speed and a big block...My question is about a 1970 L78 I just purchased from a fella in California. He also has owned it for over 20 years.
I was doing some reading in the tech section about 1970 L78 cars.I know production was done on them in the 2nd week of December 1969 and then they were off and running with the new model of the LS6. I had read that the last month the L78 cars were produced they all were special orders and came from Baltimore.Well this car i have has build date of 12A and was built in Van nuys California.I have the build sheet so I know it a true L78 car fron Van Nuys ....The car came Shadow Gray with a black vynal top, black bucket seats ,4 speed ,355 posi rearend and a functioning cowl hood.
