Nice is an understatement!!!

How much for replacement struts? Those things guaranteed to hold up a heavy SS hood? Any idea if they're firm, or don't have much play/wobble in them? They look fantastic, a trick underhood detail piece for sure.

Replacement struts are $120 a pair. They are sized correctly to open the hood and are very durable. There is a set that have been on a truck in a show room for 3 years of opening and closing without any problems. If you have a glass hood, then it will require a different strut for the different weight hood. they are a solid engineered piece.

Got final pricing today of $650 due to increase in cost of some of the parts. They are available now ready for shipment. Here is a couple pics of them installed. Annodized in also available and will come with a black annodized aluminum strut when ordering annodized hinges.

Mike

Just to clarify. What finish is on the hinges in the pics you posted last? Have they been polished?

Thanks.

BYes they can be annodized for $75 extra, would also come with a black strut to match and the strut would also be matched for a glass hood.

What about 1969 Chevelles - when would these be availble?

WOW!!! Nice job on those, I'm not sure if I'd part with 650.00 for them though... Not saying they're not worth it, but there are a LOT more crucial areas of my car that could use the funds before the hood hinges..

Beautiful hinges. Very nice !

These should work on 69 Chevelles, as the original hinges are the same with the exception of the safety slot in the back, which these aluminum hinges do not appear to have. It appears that these aluminum hinges are actually more correct looking for the 69 Chevelle.

You guys should consider making a hinge for the 68-79 Nova and related X-body cars as they are all the same. This would cover the 1968 Chevelle also.

They are waiting for a car to fit a set too I believe. There is 10 other designs in the works and many of them should be available in the next few months.

At half that price they would be great, Can't see a lot of people cracking that nut for hinges. But I guess the people that buy the $500.00 LS6 air cleaner wing nut will like them.

Dumb question...what holds the hood up? I don't see any springs in the photo. Are they built in?? THanks

Chris- the hood struts on the bottom side of the hinges support the weight.

Is there going to be some for a 1964 Chevelle?I am sure they are coming. They are trying to get as many new designs done so they can be released at SEMA. If the demand is there for them, they will be made.
