NHRA seems to think so.

I have also heard this, that the 67 Camaro was the first toget the 350 and then everyone else joined a few years later.

The 350 was offered in the SS Camaro's only we have a 67 L30/M20 with very low miles and did a pretty good research on the car. It has a numbers matching 327 in it with a factory 12 bolt with a factory traction bar. Was very confusing for a while because the factory 12 bolt threw us. During this research we found the 350 was offered in 67 in the SS model only.

67 was the first year for the 350. I bought a complete short block from a dealer in late 66 and put it in my 63 Impala SS, with a Duntov "30-30" solid lifter cam, ported "fuelie" heads, Hedmans, 4:11's and an aluminum Vette high rise. It took their money every time I raced the Goat Boys. That was a sleeper in it's day. It was actually faster than a 325 HP SS Chevelle. I did pick my races though, and left the 360 HP's alone and most of the Buick GS's.OLDED

The thing about the '67 Camaro 350SS motor is that it is a one year block if I have this right?? It has the medium journal mains and rods where all '67, 327 and smaller motors were still small journal...

It also has the old-style canister under the intake and road/draft tube outlet with a hose fitting in it that runs to the front of the Q-Jet for the PVC thing. It has chrome no-hole valve covers!

I think the '68 and all later blocks did not have the road/draft tube hole, but used holed valve covers instead.

It was first AND ONLY offered in the '67, 350SS car!

I ordered my 350SS/RS car in Oct., '66 and got it in Dec., '66 so mine is an early car.

Still have my chrome valve covers too!!
