Currently have a ATI TH-350 trans and want an overdrive. A local guy has one in his TH-400 and loves it. For the price I spent for the conveter and trans alone would be a waste to just ditch it and go 2004R.

Can someone give me some more feedback on there Gear vendors set-up and what it calls for? I'd ask the local guy but don't see him but every few months cruzing out around town.

The only drawback I see is the reduction in rpm is about 500 vs overdrive trans about 900.

the biggest problem i see is if your running a high stall converter, the o/d could lower the rpm's enough where the converter may not lock up to be efficient-the o/d trans with the lockup converter solve that problem, then you have to worry about how the cam reacts at lowered rpm's-seems everything is a trade off-i ended up using a 2:75 first gear in my 400, dropped the rear to a 3:50, and run the converter on the tight side-not the best deal, but makes it a little bit better-next thing i am gonna do is a 4L80E

I've got one, absolutely love it, period.
Fun factor, durability, 22% rpm drop.

I wouldn't trade it for any regular overdrive tranny.

Got one in 496 (550hp) 4.10 rear TH400. I love it too. I explored the 200 and 700 trannies but was apprehensive about them being able to handle the weight of the car and the 565ft lbs torque. They can but they need to be built properly. And they have a TV Cable that baffles me.. The gear vendor can handle the horsepower/torque right out of the box. Gear vendor installation is simple (I am the village idiot, and I did it myself). I first thought the Gear Vendor did not drop the RPMs enough but I have come to prefer having the car kept in its responsive powerband. If I want less rpms at highway speeds i will go larger diameter tire or drop to 3.73, 3.31. I would be glad to answer any questions. Good luck in your decision.
