I was looking at a 62 nova with 6 cylinder and what he called an air cooled powerglide auto. I would like to put a v8 in it, would a standard SBC mount to that trans.

It will mount but not live too long as there is no provision for oil cooler lines. You can tell it's air cooled because it has 4 (I think) 2 inch diameter holes around the torque converter in the bellhousing. I do not know if the case can be drilled and tapped but that may be more trouble than it's worth.
