This may be a dump question but it one that I need an answer too....I had my 327 rebuilt and the shop broke the dip stick tube during the tear down. They gave me a replacement and I installed it with no problems. The rebuild has the stock oil pan as well as all other components. I installed a new oil filter and added five (5) quarts of fresh oil. When I took a dip stick reading it indicated that I was two (2) quarts low. I purchased another chrome tube [approximately 3" shorter] and stick and installed them, now I get a reading of one (1) quart over. What the h--- is going on.
I then tried the new tube with the old stick and get a full reading:hurray:, what if anything should I do or try now or should I stay with the combination that indicated a full oil pan.

Thanks in Advance,
Don G.
