540Hotrod's (Jim) 10 flat, 140 mph pump gas convertable 67 Vette made the cover of Corvette Enthusiast. It could not have happened to a nicer guy. Jim has been over on the vette website for several years and is hands down the most willing guy on the forum to offer tech advise for everybody from newbies to guys with more experience.

Congrats Jim and good luck on the 9 sec slip.

That's great, getting on any mag cover is quite a feat. Even if it is a Corvette mag cover. Congratulations!!!! graemlins/thumbsup.gif

That is a rewarding accomplishment! graemlins/beers.gif

Must feel good to have a pic like that on the cover. I absolutely love that year/color car.

Thanks guys!

I finally got home to find it in the mailbox!! Pretty neat to see yourself on the cover!

Too bad I hadn't made the 9 sec pass yet before he went to press! But you can't lie about stuff like that...it don't count 'till I have it on that little slip!

He sent me an e-mail the other day to update him when I make it.

Very nice and congratulations...........a car that looks and runs that good deserves to be on the cover of a magazine!!

Hopefully we'll all be there one day!!

Thanks guys....it means a lot coming from all of you. Y'all know how much work goes into this stuff!

Hey Justin...you can find it at Barnes and Noble.Any of those close to you? You still coming to S.A.M.?? I was by there the other day and had lunch with Pat and the guys. Lots of cool stuff going on down there.

Unless you're around Houston or Dallas...I think we've scarfed up most of those!

Jim, plans are still a go. We're hitting all the doctors we can before we go, so as to take advantage of having insurance.

I've pretty much exhausted all recourse as to getting a student loan to pay off the rest of the tuition, so it looks like I'll be rolling my 401(k) into an IRA and disbursing it for educational purposes. That saves me from having to pay a penalty on it, but I'll still lose a little to taxes. It's not my preferred way to go, as I won't have retirement to fall back on (at least until I can get a job that offers it, so I can start it over), but it's my only real option at this time.

At least I DO have that money to fall back on for all this.

April and I would like to get together with ya one evening in mid-February or so. We'll be down there to get an apartment.

Stay in touch.

BTW, no Barnes and Nobles around here. I'm going to see if I can order one off the net.

Justin....

Call Amos publishing..it's considered a back issue now. February 2005 issue. Jeez that seems weird doesn't it? They're a little ahead I guess!

Shoot me an e-mail when you're around...we'll get together.

Shazam! Found the last copy they had at my local Hasting's Music, Book and Video.

All I can say is.....I can't wait for a ride! The amount of suspension and fabrication involved in the car is amazing to say the least.

BTW, Jim, keep a pen handy as I'll be needing an autograph soon. :D
