I need to have my 10" converter restalled and I'm not sure who to use. Anyone had it done, who did you use and what did it cost?

I run an 8" ATI Treemaster and had them reconfigure the stall this winter. They are/were holding a winter freshen sale (ends sometime in Febuary?) which is $99 for a freshen, and $50 for a stall change assuming no parts needed. My bill was $150. If the stator needs chaning, or any other replacement parts, there extra.

Its a TCI Super Street Fighter that has never been right and they are hard to deal with.

I had excellent results with A-1 Automatic Transmissions in Canoga Park CA. Marv, the owner, was the first person to build and use a high stall converter. 818-884-6222. He knows his stuff and I found him easy to deal with.

Marty,

Talk to Kenny at PTC. They restall anyone's converter and I have heard they make a VERY solid converter, especially for the nitrous/turbo crowd. Kenny was the designer at TCI for several years and some of his employees are ex-TCI also.

Thanks for the input. 66 283, I'm starting to see a lot of PTC stickers at the track. TCI was the top dog down here for years but it looks like PTC is taking over.

marty i second ptc alot of us use them around here and every one is happy with them.ive been to there shop in muscle shoels and believe me there are alot of drag racers working there .the place is full of race cars.i trashed my converter last year and took it to them.icouldnt believe it they cut it open right away it was in pretty bad shape .they said it could be fixed but its been around for awhile and i opted for another converter instead.cheap converter to start with but it was very consitantin the car.they did my 8 inch also it is a little looser than im used to and had to find a different place on the tree to leave from
