: Awesome weekend
joeyv69ragtop Jul 23rd, 07, 2:07 PM It was my bday thursday, big 2-4. I had dinner with the family, burgers! Then I had a little birthday gathering at a local bar where we are considered regulars. It's a good feeling strolling in and seeing all your friends waiting for you, some homemade gifts (a nice card, and some homemade cupcakes) and a lot of free drinks lol. Back to the bar friday night to meet up with some more friends. See some nice bikes (including a valkyrie) Had an awesome date saturday night with an awesome girl. Thai takeout, a good DVD and some fresh baked cookies that are about the size of my head! Then back to the bar to meet up with friends. It's a good feeling that I can stroll up to the bar, get a nod from the two bouncers and walk in with no trouble while the people right behind me get stopped for ID and cover charge. After the bar saturday, headed over to an old friends place for a stogie and a brew. Super relaxed mode. Good times. Stuck around 'til about 5am. Got home, took a nap, did some laundry (love fresh sheets on the bed!) then I got a call from my closest cousin to take a ride to my sisters for an impromptu family gathering where we played some horseshoes, lit off a few m-80's ate some pizza and wings and got caught up on family happenings.
damn, what a weekend!
I'm up in the clouds after all that, high as a kite, high on life!
Hope everyone's having a great day!

Rich-L79 Jul 23rd, 07, 5:25 PM Not sure I can top that, but the wife and I wrapped up roughly a month's worth of work on home improvment projects, had some old friends we hadn't seen in ages for dinner Saturday night and spent all day (and I mean ALL DAY) reading the new Harry Potter book (if you haven't read them don't snicker, these books are outstanding). It was incredible to finish off such time consuming projects, see some old friends and then be a bum and read a great book I've been looking forward to all stinkin' day!
I'll get back to the car projects next week which will be great too!
b-man Jul 23rd, 07, 9:31 PM I cut my lawn.....
MrBill66Malibu Jul 23rd, 07, 10:00 PM Happy Birthday Joey!!!! :beers: I participated in my first cycling race. It was a 200 mile 8 stage relay race in the mountains of North Carolina. Our 3rd stage rider got sick on her ride and we fell from 1st to 6th. We rallied back to finish 2nd. Our club is not a racing club but we really kicked some butt!!! I had the 7th stage and closed 10 minutes on the 2nd place team, which helped the 8th stage rider to pass him in the final few miles of the race. I'm still high on this, so I think I may know a little on how joey feels.
Aaron Jul 23rd, 07, 10:08 PM Hey Bill. What kind of bikes are they? Were you sore after it?
MrBill66Malibu Jul 23rd, 07, 11:18 PM Aaron,

Thanks Bill.
Congrats on making second place after that problem you had in the 3rd stage of the race. Way to make a comeback!
B-man, I probably should have mowed the lawn, it's been 2.5 months! (there hasn't been much rain though)
Rich,
I've heard the Harry Potter books are good. There have been spoilers all over, though. Like on my favorite radio stations, and even on woot.com yesterday they snuck a bunch of spoilers in the product description of a roomba vacuuming robot!
frankf72malibu Jul 24th, 07, 9:14 AM Joey,
I spent most of Saturday under the car installing a shift kit. It was hot in the garage but with a fan and tunes and no-one bothering me it was a good time. Mowed on Sunday and the kids and I played in the pool Sunday evening. A pretty good weekend. Oh yeah, I took Monday and Tuesday off to spend with the kids as well.

ToyzRMe Jul 24th, 07, 9:48 AM Happy B-Day, man! Glad you had a blast.
If I had a great weekend like you had, my Monday AND Tuesday would be days from he!!.
I've found that my punishment for having a great weekend is always a terrible Monday. The better the weekend, the worse the Monday.
I will be SOOOOOOO glad to be rid of my trucking business (VERY soon)!
