yes

but I don't recall the year, they're not new though. It was about the same time CC started having all the QC problems IIRC.

I bought an XE284 around 2000. I think they were pretty new at the time....

I got my first one in about 1997. IIRC they were introduced in 95 or 96. It was the XE274, went into a 400, ran like a scalded ape. People who heard it LOVED it: said the motor sounded like it was angry, wanted to jump up out of there and kill something. I really liked it.

I ended up replacing it with with a XR282HR in about 99 or 2000, which ran like ALOT more cam, even though the specs don't look all that much different.

I bought an XE268 in 1999 For my 69 442, 455 engine, and that thing ran like a beast. Tons of torque. I had Jenkins down in Van Nuys tune it, and he wanted to know what cam I was running because it was so strong.
Dang I miss my 442.

I had a 1971 442 455 4spd convertible with a/c and pw. 390 POSI 12BOLT, that car had so much torque it was not funny. I saw a similar car on the internet going for 150,000 made me sick, I feel your pain.:(
