I'm wondering if anyone has bought just 1 bucket seat cover from any of the suppliers? I only need the driver's side bucket at this time.

Thanks,
Dave

You would be better off getting both as the repop probably is not going to be an exact match. Make sure you research who has the most correct seat covers as some are pretty cheap looking and of poor quality.:)

What ever you do make sure it is NOT from PUI,as they are JUNK!
Look for Chris@LegendaryAuto he is a member here and work for Lengendary Auto Interior.

It's possible, Rick. Only problem is, we're on opposite sides of the country; I don't know you, you don't know me. I guess we need to figure out who makes the best covers and go from there. Then we gotta figure out how to pay for it; and who gets the original shipment and sends the 2nd cover to the other guy.
What do you think?

Don't know why Jr Johnston thinks that PUI covers are junk. I just redid my rear seat as well as the front buckets and the PUI cover fit like a glove. Exact match to the orig. ones that I removed. Likewise the quarters panel and doors panels cover look and fit perfectly and so does the carpet.

I agree. I read some of the forums a few months ago and a lot of guys said PUI was good covers so I had to have my 67s rear seat recovered so I ordered from PUI and had it installed at a local shop. When I dropped it off I asked him what he thought of PUI and he said they were a good company and he installs a lot of them. Long story short the buckets have the original covers and the rear seat has a new cover, every thing looks good to me. If you look close enough the biggest difference is the grain pattern on the buckets has been worn smooth in the last 40 years in places.

The reason I think that PUI seat cover and upholstery kit's are JUNK is that in the past 19 years being in the upholstery bussiness I have had to send back or take the cover's apart and replace all kind's of stuff before they would fit right. That in my opinion is junk, and if you look back through some of the other post's in this section you will see that I am not the only one that feel's the same. And the customer service they have,or I shuould say the lack there of.The last PUI seat cover's I did only thing I was able to use from them was the insert's,and my customer brought them in.He tried to send them back to have PUI fix them and they sent them back saying that nothing was wrong with them, they were 4" too narrow on the front buckets and 6" too narrow on the rear bench. So I jsut used the insert's from their cover's and made new one. And that is not the first time that I had this problem with PUI's JUNK. I have had to pull the vinyl off a set of door panel and re make them,as they were 1" too short.
At my shop I do not allow my employees to order PUI,but will install them ''IF" the customer provides them, and we let the customer know that we may have to modify the seat cover to fit.I have had better luck with stuff made in China,or other over sea's places than I have with PUI.If you want cheap poor quality then that is the way to go,but there is alot better out ther than PUI.

This is not my opinion, but from my past experiences with their product's.

Legendary makes the best quality seat cover. Not tring to sway you one way or the other,or push their company it is just from past experience dealing with this kinda thing.

That's too bad. How long have they been in business now? 30 years or so? You'd think they'd have it right by now. I guess I'll have to check out Legendary. I don't think they're making '66 covers yet, are they?
Whatever happened to USA-1 interiors? I've been looking thru my old car magazines, and they used to advertise everywhere 20-odd years ago.

Back 19 years ago when I first started doing upholstery PUI was real good, but over the years they went to pot.Someone told me about 10-15 years ago they were sold and I guess the new owner's are more worried about profit.

Well Jr. In your words I will keep these " cheap poor quality" covers that I bought untill they wear out but I do thank you for the info about Lengendary Auto Interiors. I will give them a try next time. Heck I may have just got lucky there is a big difference in buying just one cover and having it installed and putting them on for a living day after day.
