Tracks around here run 2 classes for the weekly bracket program, Pro and Footbrake .. Pro has t/brakes footbrake .. well .. it doesnt
You need to check with the track(s) that you intend to run at. They do not carry every class or program of racing.

Are there some main classes that most places run? Just wondering what they usually go by. Type of car, engine size, I guess it would vary quite a bit from track to track. Whats it like around you guys?

Super Pro and No Electronics or NO/E and Trophy. Super Pro has it all, No Electronics is just that,no transbrake(most cars at the track have them, just don't use them  ) line lock for burnouts only unless its a stick car,no two stage rev limiters.

Okay if you are going to be racing at your local track that means you have at least spectated there at least once right?
The next time you spectate simply go up to the tech inspection area and ask for a racer sheet. Virtually all tracks pass out an information sheet to all the racers. Usually it will have the available class catagories listed, along with general rules. If you are still unsure of where you would fit in, just ask the tech officials - I've never met one who couldn't tell me which class I could race in, or what safety gear was required.

Why not just go on a test and tune day
