Ive read alot about exhaust cut-outs. Has anyone ever installed them on an otherwise stock system?
If so, where in the system did u install them and pics would be great. Thanks!!

Cut outs go infront of your mufflers, you open them and it's like running straight off the headers. Makes your car much louder.
There are electric one's(very expensive) and bolt on one's. This site also has alot of video's you can download and listen to others cars...

Thanks Rick, ive seen them on modified exhaust but i dont think I have ever seen them on a stock system. Has anyone put them on a stock system? Would it be better to install them in front of the flat section of the pipes or behind it? Is there enough room between the mufflers and flat areas on the pipes for cutots to fit? Are they concealed well enough in this area or woiuld it be better to move them forward>? Thanks for any help anyone can give!!!!

A friend of mine with a '69 442 bolted his right to the header flange on his stock system. He bought a couple flanges, welded them to one side of the cut-out and then welded the other side of the cut-out to the intermediate pipes. I don't know if this is the ideal placement for performance but it worked for him and it looked good. I think he was doing it more for the sound of open headers. Sorry no pics.

Jim,
I think your friend was on to something. The way it looks theres more room in that general area than there is right in front of the mufflers. Seems like they would be better concealed there and wouldnt hang too far down in that positon. anyone else have any experience in this area? Thanks Jim!!

I welded mine in right to the header collector, and then out with the regular exhaust system. Made for a pretty clean install, and they look good if I don't say so myself!
