: Heater Cable Terminations

I've got a 69 Malibu with factory air. Early in the project I pulled the heater box out and cleaned/painted it, blew out the evaporator and installed a new heater core.

The cables had already been removed by a previous owner from the door levers in the box, but left attached to the control panel and zip-tied back. I bought new cables and attached them to the control panel.

I re-installed the box last fall and am finally getting the interior done.

My question is, does anybody have photos or a good diagram as to which cable goes to which lever? In looking at the box, I can only see two levers behind where the glove box goes. Can anybody tell me where the third lever is?

I have a Chassis Service Manual and a Haynes Repair Manual but neither one gives this detailed information.

Thanks for your help.

Ron, I am in a simalar stage you are in a restoration. My cables will need to be replaced, but at least the old ones are still in place. There is a diagram in the factory service manual, page 1A-68 that will give you a good place to start. The diagram does not address adjustment. Send me your email and I will send you a photo and written detail of how they go.
