I hear about using z-28 springs all the time, does anybody know the specs of these springs?are they double springs?what is the seat pressure?open pressure? the reason for asking is i am thinking of using a voodoo 262 with 468 lift with 291 camel backs trying to stay as original looking as possible on my 327 chevelle,will the z-28 springs be sufficient or should i go with the recommended springs for the cam which are a single spring with damper chrome silicon 110lbs seat pressure 345lbs open pressure or will the z-28 springs work without wiping the cam out? Thanks, Greg......

Elgin's Z-28 equivalent is;
110# @ 1.75" installed height and 325# @ 1.200", Coil bind @ 1.150".
Midwest Motorsports PN = ELG RV943X
Cheap too!
You should be fine w/ the springs you are talking about IF 345# is at 1.15" max. lift!!
That said, I would run the spring Lunati's recommends unless a cheaper on that is spec'd the same OR almost the same is available. And it look's like the old Z-28 spring is it.

The lunati springs are 110# seat pressure at 1.75 IH ,345 open pressure at 1.230 ,1.160 coil bind, 1.266 OD by .833 ID,should i be okay with the springs having less open pressure? easier on the cam ?the cam is rated at 1000 to 5500rpm.The spring/lifter/ cam set was an option but you could buy the cam by itself and i already had the heads built with the z-28 springs.Thanks for the help guys.

just check to make the installed height is right on the ones you have, they'll be OK.
