I have made a mistake when removing my old sweep style dash, I don't remember which plug goes into the fuel gauge. Thru old fuel gauge away. I am trying to wire my new Autometer fuel gauge and I need to find that wire from the sending unit to the old fuel gauge . By reconnecting the old plugs the only one I have left is a plug that has one brown wire, one black and one red. Also if this is it, is brown signal, red power and blk ground? I wish I could give more info.

The red is actually pink, the brown is actually tan. Pink is power only with key on, black is ground and tan is out to sender.

Will your new gauge work with the old sender? What is the ohm range for your new gauge? Your sender is most likely a 0-90 ohm device.

On the Autometer box it says 0 OHMS empty/90 OHMS full, fits most GM Vehicles. So I guess its a go. Thanks for the help guys.
