I have a 69 chevelle that I bracket race. It runs 11.70's to low 11.90's with a best of 11.61@114.
I'm not sure what the car weighs but I would guess between 3800-4000lbs with driver. All steel with full interior and 6point roll bar.
specs are:
427 BBC plus .030
merlin oval port heads 269cc
2.19/1.88 valves with 3angle valve job. Nonethin else has been done to heads.
12:1 SRP pistons.
comp cams solid .595/.595 lift 248/248 dur.@.050
lash set @.022.
intake Airgap performer rpm.
850 holley mech. sec.
TH400 with ATI 8inch converter.(4200)
4:56 gears with 28x12.50 M/T's ET STREET
The car is footbraked. I shift at 6500 and go through the traps 6500-6600 depending on the air. The problem that I have is in 3rd gear going through the traps it doesn't seem to want to pull that hard above 6300. So now I'm in search for a solid roller. I would like a cam that works up to 6800. I know that I need new springs, lifters and a dist. gear. Would I need longer stem valves? Would I also need the lifter bores to be checked out for trueness? The block is a early 80's 454 4 bolt main. So if you could give me a cam recommondation that would be great. sorry so long graemlins/clonk.gif

Ray,

I have 3 solid flat tappets and a couple of rollers you will be interested in.
Solids:
402A6LUN 288/296 255/263 .612/.630 107
402A7LUN 288/296 255/263 .612/.630 110
402A8LUN 292/301 259/267 .625/.625 110
Rollers:
502A4LUN 287/295 256/264 .660/.660 110
502A5LUN 286/296 255/263 .685/.680 107
The 2 cams on 107 LSA are realy bracket-race only, with rough idles. They will work just fine with your converter and rear gears, also the CR.
The 3 cams on 110 LSA are very street-drivable, as well as being good bracket cams.
Any of these cams will require a good fuel system, as they all make in excess of 600 BHP at 6400.
If you decide on a roller, Lunati has cores available with the 'Ever-Wear' gear, that eliminates the need for Al-Bronze gears.

I've got a question Harold.
Do you still have any T-shirts from your old company ?
I was thinking that it would be cool to have one, maybe you could sell off any remaining stock in classifieds.

I'd like to buy one.

Even stickers! I actually have the UD graphic, as it was on our show banner in 2003.

Hehehe, maybe I'll have our t-shirt guys make a small run of black UD t's with the graphic next year!

Guys,

Thanks, but I don't know if I'm allowed to do anything with the old decal, etc, as all that was sold to Bullet Cams, for whatever good it'll do them.
I'm thinking of putting up my old web-site, just for 'Informational purposes"......
AS good as the UD cams are/were, I'm working hard to replace them.

thank you for the cams UDHAROLD. I would really like to up grade to a roller. My fuel system right now is a fuel cell with -8 AN line going to a holley blue pump and -8 AN line to the carb. Think I might need to step up the fuel pump?

Ray,

See my 2nd reply in UDHarold Help by 1320. In there I tell how to make it work pretty cheaply, and it will feed a 800-HP BBC with the rollers.
