Looking more at my roof codition (Someone jumped on it and caved it in) I think I'm better off buying a roof skin. I was able to pop the biggest part out but there are too mant creases and dents throughtout. Does anyone know where the best one at the best price is available at for a 72 chevelle? I looked somewhat and wasn't able to find a vendor for a reproduction. Thanks for your help. :beers:

Your absolutely right. I called today and the salesman didn't have any info at all on this roof skin. He said check back in a couple of months for availability and price. They are marketing cowl sections and roof braces at Ground Up as well.

Only reproduction is for the El Camino at this time. The Chevelle Coupe is in the works, BUT only time will tell when..

Why don't you check with NewMexguy ?

Newmexguy is awesome! I got a whole 70 chevelle roller RUST FREE from him! (check it out in my showroom) These parts are out there in junkyards still, just have to look harder.
He is in the southwest and is always selling used southwestern parts. Hit him up!
There are others that routinely strip these old cars in the southwest. Newmexguy is not the only one that does this, just can't think of any others off the top of my head at the moment. If you have no luck with him, put up a want ad in the teamchevelle classifieds.
Good luck!

It's prob a Dynacorn piece. There never give good ETA"s for new stuff. Basically, whenever if comes off the boat is when it's coming. That's the story they told me for my elky 1/4's.

All the scary original vinyl topped cars we see pics of on this site is demand enough to see that part produced. The ad for the roof skin for the Camaros in Super Chevy magazine also creates some hope.

Yes, I'm pretty confident in time the new skins will arrive on the boat. I just have to weigh the options of repair cost and overall finished look. (which might jump out at you after the paint and clear coats are applied) VS replace skin. Wonder if these new skins come with drip rail attached or not. Probably not, but we'll see. I'll check out Newmexguy. Also Allyears has some as well. Thanks guys.
