OK gang we finnally found a build sheet :hurray:on our 72' Arlinton Car
(Top of Gas Tank:() Well as a lot of you have know it is not in the best of shape! Is there any trick to getting the ink to appear better it is very faint and can barley be read. We used a really fine artixt brush to remove the dirt/dust but some of the sheet is forever gone. On the left side we can see some of the printing but can not quite make it out.
We have not taken the headliner out (it 's in GREAT Shape).

If you have a numbers matching SS it might be worth the money to take it to a restorer.
Something else you can try is put it in a copy machine and manually set the darkness and make a few copies. It will darken the whole thing but will many times bring out the light lines and numbers without damaging the original.

Have you taken the interior out yet? You may find another one in there that is in better shape. We found one in our '72 Arlington car under the tar paper under the front drivers side seat. It was completely intact and very ligible. Good luck!

I also found a buildsheet on top of a gas tank.
I found that when I scanned it into the computer that I could then manipulate the the background and lettering to make it more legible.

They may also be found in the headliner, and on top of the glovebox liner, and the usual under carpet, in the seat springs, on top of the cowl under the fenders. F.W.I.W there have ben cases where the build sheet from other cars were thrown in. Back in the day, they weren't intended for documentation as we use them for now. It's very cool to find one
