I just ordered a set of Hooker Super Comps from Jet Hot for my 70 Chevelle. 2 1/8 primary 3 1/2 collector. They are going on the 540 C.I. with 335 Air Flow Research heads. Problem is, I forgot the exaust port is raised about .375". graemlins/clonk.gif Anybody think they will work without a ton of hassle or should I just order custom headers? I been thinking I should have the stepped to 2 1/4 headers with a 4" collector anyway. This car will spin about 6800 - 7200 rpms. Also it will be about 80% street. Thanks for the advice!! :D

I have a 498 cu-in high compression engine in my car a use it 80% street and 20% strip. I have the Dart 320 aluminum heads on my car with the raised ports and Hooker Super Comp headers (exact ones you ordered). You will need to use the solid tall moroso motor mounts to make the headers clear your steering column shaft and cross member. You will also need to change your brake booster to a 7" dual diaphram to clear the valve covers.

I just put the same set on my 64 ( part # 2220 ) I am running a tall deck block and Brodix heads which the exhaust ports are raised .600". I had to notch the frame on the pass. side. Driver side fit was great no mods needed.
