Have any of ya'll ever heard of Dayco convertors? One of my friends is offering to sell me one for $100 with just a couple runs on it. He says it cruised at 2300 with no slip and flashed to 2800. That's with his big block and I am gonna put it behind my small block. He was chasing a severe vibration issue that turned out to be his pinion angle.
Anyhow I know it's still fine I just wonder if Dayco is a junk brand or not.
Thanks for any help...Mac

Daaco is a common "rebuilder" brand of converter. They are not really setup for big power applications and you could probably buy a new one for $100 in the same configuration.
Probably OK for a driver, but I would go elsewhere for a performance converter.
Look at the PTC street 11" and 12" converters for a good budget oriented converter.

It's Daaco, and they are a rebuilder of converters and supply transmission rebuild kits too. They bought out a converter rebuild shop in Fort Worth that used to build custom converters and they still offer that service I believe. It depends on where the converter was built . I used Quality Converters ( the ones that were bought by Daaco) a lot and the guy that built them offered 1 free re-stall if you didn't like it . Frank did great work, but not sure if he is still at the Ft. Worth plant. Hope that helped !
