I want to make my own fuel and transmition lines, I dont really care about the looks of the braided stainless hose.
I like the stainless tubing look better, I know at some point I will have to use a flexable type hose, but then I would like a black hose if I can find it.
Does anyone know what degree flair the AN fittings are and where I can find a tool to make them?
Thanks T.C.

It's 37 degrees.

I got mine from here:

http://www.inlinetube.com/

It's in their TOOLS section.

It wasn't cheap, but it's a quality tool that has held up. I would recommend it.

think it stands for "army/navy" we use em all the time on aircraft hard lines. hydro, fuel etc. 37* single or double flare. the hand flaring tools that you see above work ok. sometimes there is problems with the line slipping in the jaws, but that is easily solved by wrapping a piece of sandpaper around the tube in the jaws. we use a pneumatic flaring machine to do ours but of course that machine is broken right now, so we are relegated to using the same hand flaring tools that you can buy to do it. have fun!

Yes.

like Yellow77 said "yes" we only use the double flares on 5052-O material. that is really soft non heat-treated aluminum lines. makes the flare strong enough to last a while. steel is plenty strong single flared.
