I know it's not a Team Chevelle event, but I was wondering who will be in Syracuse for the Nationals July 20-22 this year?

It's huge! Lots to see, almost too much to see in one day.

I'll be there especially as I can get to the fairgorunds in about 20 minutes. I will not have the Chevelle ready so will only take the Camaro. There are at least 12-15 of us all trying to hook up so we can park together. Where are you coming from?

There is a poker run on Thursday I think and then a really good cruise Thursday night before the show starts on Friday.

I'm a little over 20 minutes, near Green Lakes. I'm going to look at everything Saturday with an old friend that's coming up for the day. Then we'll come home and grab the Chevelle for the evening.

I'll also be driving around the other days for sure!

Nice photos! Which Camaro is yours and is the blue Chevelle on the 3rd page yours?

Don:

The black 68 RS/SS with the white D90 stripe is mine and yes the blue Chevelle SS (clone) on the third page is too. That Chevelle is undergoing a frame off right now. Hopefully it will be done before the end of the season.

Hope to see you at the Nationals. I'll post Friday night and let you know where we are parked.

Fri or Sat for me...depending on the weather. Haven't missed one yet and don't plan to start now! Should be some other CanAm members there, too.

Hey Duke, good to hear from you. Don't know if you remember meeting me at Grand Island but you probabnly remember my wife Ginny. Seems to be a common occurrence for some reason :D. Hope to see you there. We will be there all three days and also at the cruise on Thursday night when they shut off Onondaga Lake Parkway. I'll keep my eye out for you.

I will be there. A number of us are planing to head up early Friday morning, with our rides. I plan on staying at least one night. I have a friend that lives 2 miles from the grounds, who offered his place. Last year there was 6,500 cars there. It was my first time there. It's mind blowing to see so many awesome rides in that setting. This year the giveaway car is a neat yellow street rod. Then there is all the entertainment that they put on. :beers:

Scott nice 65

If the photo in your sig is yours you need to change your name to Eyegotta65 :D

How are things in Bingo-town these days? Lived near Montrose for 10 years before moving to the 'Cuse.

I'll be out driving around for sure Steve, not sure exactly when and where, but maybe we could pick a place and time somewhere. What is your car?

Looks like the weather is going to be awesome!!!

Hi Don,
Thanks for the thumbs up. Eyewanta65 was of coarse when I was still hunting for one. Can't seem to bring myself to change it. Montrose is not far from me. I'm about 4 miles from the border in Apalachin. I grew up in the Syracuse area, in Mattydale. If you see my ride come say hey. It will probably be the only red on red 65 there with Coy's wheels.

Will do! If you see a charcoal 70 with slots (see sig) on the streets flag me down! I'll be on the grounds Saturday. I'll see if I can find you.

We lived 7 miles from the border in Friendsville.

Hi Mstehle,
I looked at some of the pictures in your sig. Were they taken at the Prison City car show ? I saw that rod with the awesome flames there. I could not believe that car didn't get a top 50 award.

Scott: Yes some of the pics were from the Father's Day Show. That flame job was sweet wasn't it? Those Prison City guys can get a little bit political sometimes so if they don't know you it's sometimes tough to win anything. I must have looked at one of them wrong one time cause it is tough to get the time of day from some of them. Oh well, that's Auburn for ya.

I was there with the folks in the other pics like the 71 Purple Cuda and the 55 Bel Aire. We'll all be at the Nationals and are trying to hook up so we can all park together so keep your eyse out for us and say hey when you find us. I'll have the black 68 RS/SS Camaro there cause the velle is not done. They are a great bunch of folks and at some point oyu wil probably be offered some cold refreshments too! :beers:

Mark.
I remember most of the cars from the show pics. Your Camaro is sweet. I wasn't too far from you with my red 65, between you and where they presented the trophies. It will be a hot one this weekend. I'm sure I can find you ,being that there are cold refreshments involved.

Your car is awesome with a capital A. I think remember seeing it. I will look for you at the Nationals. I am still at work (unfortunately) and just talked to a buddy who is up at Wegmans in North Syracuse tonight and he said there are already a lot of out of town and out of state cars there. The guys brought their girls too so the eye candy is good. I love this hobby :)

I was out for about an hour and a half between East Syracuse and Kirkville tonight with one of my boys. Saw a Cobra and three nice Mopars.

Hopefully it will be nice most of tomorrow for some more venturing around. Probably try some 481 runs and check out that Great Northern area.

Liverpool will probably be hopping, along with the Holiday Inn near the thruway!

Are you doing the poker run this afternoon? We are trying to get at it early today and then get to the Regional Market by 3:00. Don't know if thee weather will cooperate though. May have to do the poker run in my daily driver :(

Unfortunately with the rain I won't have it out today. No wipers!

How is that run organized? Just based on who shows up or you have to sign up in advance?

I'll probably take my van out and check things out though.

I knew Thursday was going to be questionable for me.

Good cruisin last night and only a spritz of rain (that is until my way home then a little more) We are all headed to the Fairgrounds now (6:30 A.M. Friday). It looks like the weather is going to cooperate for the most part. Come on out!

Just got home from making the rounds with the 70. Saw a few Chevelles. One was a nice 69 and another was a medium blue 66. Cruised the blvd, then over to electronics parkway. Most guys looked to be tucked in.

Going to the grounds Saturday, then out for more driving fun at night!

None of the parts showed up this week for my project car. I am frustrated. I read this post and decided to make the 3.5 hour trip. I am leaving now 6:00 AM. Sat. Perhaps I will see you guys there and say hello. Thanks for the post or I would have been frustrated this whole weekend.

As you pull in gate 6 and go hrough the check in point and then into the main parking lot look to the left and you will see a raised area surrounded by a white fence. It has a small pavillion. We are up there. There were about 15 of us there yesterday and probably about the same today.

Hope to see you there

Mark - Sunday evening and I am just responding the thread.....I probably drove right past your group Sat evening around 7:30 or so. I was parked both Saturday and Sunday near Gepetto's Food Stand. During the day on Saturday I tried to walk the show, probably covered about 60% and stopped counting chevelles at 200! Boy the fair grounds were packed! Cruised the Blvd, Thompson Road, and Buckley Road, rhe cops had a handle on cars and spectators! All and all a good time.

Don It was cool meeting you at the Syracuse Nationals. I never did cross paths with Mark. They set a new attendance record, 6,800 cars! Man did I have an awesome parking spot for Saturday. http://www.chevelles.com/showroom/data/500/medium/P7200011.JPG

Scott,

I'm really glad I got to meet you and Christopher! The car you two built together really looks as good in person as the photos you've posted on here.

Maybe we can cross paths again sometime this summer when I've got my car too. I'd really like for you to see it too.

My buddy and I went cruising at the blvd, then to 7th North street saturday nite after the show. The police were out in full force. More so than years past. At one of the lights a guy in a GS next to me decided to do a hole shot (maybe he felt intimidated setting next to my car) and the cops that were sitting in the median flew across my lane and pulled him over like he'd just robbed a bank.

Anyway, people were out in their lawn chairs egging us on and we had a great time!

Mark,

The spot where you guys were was one area we didn't cover completely. Sorry we missed you.

Do any of you guys go to Sylvan Beech on Thursday nights?

Maybe some of us can meet up there some week. I'll be checking it out a few times this summer, whenever the weather is good on a Thursday

Don:

We normaly do the Regional Market as it is closer for all of us. Usually a couple hundred cars or so. However we can do Sylvan Beach too. We'll definitely have to hook up.

I can't believe I missed Scott's car on Satruday. I never did see that and I walked the grounds at least twice.

Got a pretty good deal on a new MSD 6AL box and Blaster II coil and a high performance Holley fuel pump and pressure regulator. Advance Auto was giving 20% off on Sunday. Cheaper than Summit or Jegs and no shipping :hurray:

Yep that's the one. Usually a live band, food available, 50/50 drawing, door prizes, good fellowship and hot cars. The cruise in is every Thursday from May to October. Come on out.
