Need some help with alternator change. I put a SPAL dual 11" fan setup on my BB with serpentine belt system.(Street Performance chrome)
The alternator is the DN, 3 wire type with external regulator. I took it to an electrical shop and it's only puting out about 50-60 amps. With the car running and lights and fans on, the gage reads 10 so I need more current.
Here's the problem. It's a chrome serpentine system with matching bullit end pieces and bolts at the 1 oclock and 8 oclock positions.
How do I go to another alternator (find one). 140 amp ? 1 wire or 3 ? I could get this one rebuilt and amped up but I would prefer going to an internal regulator.
