i got a great deal on a used moroso oil pan with a kickout sump and swinging door.the floor inside the pan has some light rust i would like to remove before installation.a friend suggested using a small sandblaster, but i'm a little concerned about sand getting trapped in areas inside the pan and not coming out when i flush and clean it.does anyone have any experience with this situation? thanks for any suggestions.

muriatic acid and a scotchbrite works good, let the acid set for awhile and scrub every so often then rinse it well with water. Stay upwind-the fumes aren't good for your health. About $5 per gallon at most hardware stores.

thanks baddbob71,that sounds a lot more intelligent than shooting sand everywhere! graemlins/thumbsup.gif

Scotch-brite is a nasty abrasive I wouldn;t put anywhere near a motor. CLEAN IT WELL! Might even try good ol steel wool.

Do a Google on "mollases rust removal". You'll be surprised! Just remember not to put Aluminum in there (it will disappear)
