Running the street rod pump with holley regulator
pressure keeps creeping up and flooding engine while driving. Just tried to get a good quiet
pump, now the tech guys at areomotive and the speed shop that recommended the setup tell me I have to buy a different, return type regulator
and run 1/2 return line and fabricate something at the tank.Is this worth doing or should I just live with a noisey holley pump? Any suggestions appreciated.

Hi Joe,

I went through my fuel system several times....holley blue and holley reg. I ended up with a different brand pump that's much quieter, and I did use a return regulator.

The return reg is harder to install because of the extra line needed, but i think the advantages are worth the effort.

A return reg will lower the load on the pump, making it quieter and it will last longer. It will also help to ensure that you get nice cool fuel to the engine, which also keeps the pump cooler. In my case, it helpd me get my pressure to stay rock steady, and not creep anymore. I've got a fuel press guage in the car, because I was having so much trouble for a while. Now it's steady as can be....

I'm in Waterford.... if you ever wanted to see broken pump parts caused by deadhead regulators, or check out how i installed the return regulator. Just shoot me an email smile.gif
