I dont know if anyone looks on the classifieds, but after trying to sell the '66 buckets I had done a while ago. I just bit the bullet and installed the brackets and set one seat in the el camino tonight. I can say Im actually looking forward to driving it tomorrow! One word of warning, When welding, the dry jute padding will catch fire! No I do not drink, I thought I could work around it, I was wrong. No damage, just a little flame. I kept a wet sponge next to me just in case.
If anyone trys to talk you into the 2 piece brackets, do yourself a favor and get the 4 piece brackets, I trial fitted the seats to the outside and it does hit the seatbelt retractors. I measured everything off my other bucket seat el camino. I looks like I actually got it right. Will find out wed. Since I didn't get the 4 piece kit for the brackets, Im just going to get some grade 8 bolts and big fender washers for the front outside leg of the buckets. Jim

Dumb question here, but is the four piece kit four pieces for each seat?

no its the long inboard piece and a small stud for the outside front.
everything bolted up fine! But, I think I perfer the bench seat. Anyone else swap out a bench to bucket and go back? Im going to give it a week or so. If I dont like it I may install the bench again.
It does look good though. I sort of wished I wouldnt have sold my spare console. jim

Buckets are my favorite for comfort, you just need to wait for your Homer Simpson ass groove.

Bench is also cool, especially when dating.

I like the looks of the buckets myself. My two dates are nine and twelve, and they kinda dig the bench though. So I'm still trying to figure out which way to go.

I'll be passing thru Tuscon at the end of this month----I'll take those buckets if you decide to go back to a bench. (smiley)

Thats funny, I just sold a pair of 70 Z28 wheels, guy was coming home from the LA rodster show back to Texas, Stopped by my workplace and bought them. I had the seats posted in the classifieds for awhile, but really didnt want to ship, and craigslist in town didn't turn up one call. In fact there was a guy selling a pair of 69 up buckets on craigslist the other day for 40 bucks. Just goes to show you what some of the stuff goes for around here. jim
