I've asked more than a few questions of late, and I'm new to this board.
I really appreciate all of the well thought out responses I have gotten.
I believe that I have all but two details of my 496 buildup sorted out. And I know ARP will help us with the correct fasteners to install the Milodon 4 bolt caps that will allow me to retain the windage tray.
The only other remainng question is what intake to run and I think I'm going to put a few choices up on the dart board and throw 3 darts and see what comes up. :)
Actually I'm interested in the new Merlin stuff and hopefully they will answer my emails.
Now I just need to build a fire under my machinist!
I'd like to shamelessly plug an excellent parts supplier for Chevrolet HP both stock and aftermarket parts. And that would be Sallee Chevrolet located in Milton Freewater Oregon. Check out their website sometime.

Very friendly and helpful folks. Their site is kind of hard to navigate, but that's half the fun. And......they have WAY more stuff in their inventory than the site shows, so if you don't see it call. They beat the usual speed shops on price on most everything I bought.
BTW....after going through all of this engine building details, I can begin to appreciate the crate engines available in the world today. But at least this way, there is satisfaction in knowing "this is my combo".
