: Front drag springs for the street recommendations please?

I was thinking about Moroso front drag springs but then I read some posts that stated they don't last too long on the street. Is that true? Currently I have used six banger spring with a SB and some lakewood drag shocks. It sits way too low in the front and I don't think I'm getting any weight transfer. Drag radials spin way to easy with 4 speed. I plan on using OE stock replacements for the back. and maybe the same for the front???

Thanks!

I have Moroso's up front with a small block, I drive it on the street a little. Stock Malibu rear springs. Competition Engineering shocks. Not too bad on the street.
Are you running a big block or small?

SB with aluminum heads in a 70. So there holding up on the street. I heard bouncing around on a trailer can wear them out

Anyone else want to chime in :D will the Morosos last on the street or is there a better OE style spring that works.

If I can't get to a scale what Moroso spring would work in a 70 SB aluminum heads, no sway bar, battery up front but might change to back,

Thanks!

I put them on a car I had about 10 years ago,and I know the current owner of the car,and they are still on there with no problems.
They do make the car handle funny at 100 mph+ on the highway for an extended period of time.Don't ask me how I know that ;)

I'll look for the part number, I think it was the 47140 spring. I have a small block alum head car. The ride height is good. I've had it over 100mph but only short runs (1320 ft at a time). Check my site for pix to see the height.

********************Edit:
the part number is 47160 for the spring I have**

Hey thanks hilljack! The colour is electric blue pearl coat. I was origianlly stuck on Arrival but changed at the last minute. A little blue pearl in the white too graemlins/thumbsup.gif
The front weighs 1879 lbs. for reference. SBC with alum. heads and intake. I have removed the inners and wipers, use a glide and tubluar trans crossmember and cookie cutter front rubber. Use this for your weight comparison.
You reminded me I need to get a pic of my loop, it fits right in front of the floor brace, it's designed for A body cars.
I had it to Nashville last summer if you were there. Should be there again this year.

Cool! Thanks for the info! Where did you get the tubular cross member?

What kind of loop do you have?

The cross member is a custom bent one by Customer Perfomance in Slater, IA (email link on my page).

The loop is a one piece unit the fits up into the tunnel perfectly and the floor braces are angled to lay right in front of the floor braces. It wasn't the cheap one size wants to fit all kind. I found a recommendation here for it.

Oh, for weight reference I also have a mini starter.
