I am looking at a 70 LS6. It has two build sheets. Everything so far appears correct. It has a bench seat with automatic on the column. Anyone want to chime in with a ballpark number as to what it is worth. please feel free. Thanks

not much info to go on but, $50,000 to $80,000 seems to be the going rate

Just because it has two build sheets does not mean it's a real LS6. Way too many fakes out there these days. Before you go spending big $$$$$$ for it, hire an expert to inspect it. You're in PA? Get Jeff Dotterer.

The current owner has owned the car for 11 years and it has been awarded a Junior and a Senior by the Vintage Chevrolet Club of America. It comes with the awards and judgijng sheets.

Rob,

The price or value of these cars can vary tremendously depending on condition, documentation, originality, pedigree, history, etc. Bill is right, get an expert to go look at it. In the meantime, you will need to post a lot of pictures of the car so we can get a look at it. In addition, you need to tell us if the car is a survivor, restored (how well), driver, trailered, etc. Also, what kind of documention comes with the car such as build sheet (let's see a good picture of the ones you mentioned), owner history, protecto plate, window sticker, etc. The numbers on the car (such as engine, transmission, rear end, carb, distributor, cowl tag, etc) are very important to see what's original or not and what has been changed. With this type of information, you will get much better estimates.

Jim and everyone else, thanks for your comments. The car I was looking at was the blue white vinyl top listed on ebay. I went to look at it last night in northern New Jersey. The owner is a very nice guy and the car is real. Everything is correct jowever I did not like the fit of most panels on the car. It was obious that the left quarter panel had bedn rplaced and the left trunk floor repaired. It was an after market quarter that really did not fit right. The trunk would not closely easily and was up on the right side, No sign of rust but this was hit pretty good in the left rear. Also the hood did not fit quite right and I think it was hit in the left front. The back of the left front fender where the door opens had a load of what appear to be brand new shiny shims. Someone was trying to get evryhting to fit. S Rear spring need replaced(original) and all the front end bushings are dry rotted and cracked. I am too particular in what I buy,and with prices what they are today, even though this car I am sure is real was not for me.Thanks again to all.
