I neeed to install an electric fuel pump for my 69 chevelle. Can anyone tell me the best place to wire it in the fuse box and what size wire to use? I think I'm going to mount the pump towards the rear of the fuel line

What kind of gas tank do you have? Electric pumps really need a fuel cell or a sumped stock tank, the reason, electric pumps do better as fuel "pushers" rather than a fuel "puller" (which is a mech pump).
For wiring, they should be wired with a relay, see pic below. Get power from the battery or horn relay (to terminal 30) Get IGN power from the IGN terminal at fuse box (to terminal 86) Power for this terminal pulls very little power and only turns the relay on.

I have a stock tank. The engine that came withe car had 2 cracks in the block. the one we are putting in is a newer 350 w/o a mech pump.

After doing a search, I found this post. Excellent info on relays.
Thanks yet again, Greg.

Agree with Greg 100%. The only thing I think I might add, unless you modify your stock tank to do it, I'd go with an in-tank fuel pump, OR use a return line setup with a fuel pressure regulator.
The goal is to keep the fuel pump cool from the fuel around or through it. I had one years ago that would "vapor lock" on a hot day in slow traffic.

And in the interest of crash safety---
Install a crash switch (I used a ford 'cause they are easy to get from a crashed car) between pin #85 and ground.
