Had a hesitation from the start on new motor. Also when give it part throttle some to 1500 or 2000 or so and hold it the rpm will steadily increase a few hundred rpm after a few seconds. Now has 1300 miles now. Changed power valve from 6.5 to 4.5, 3.5, 2.5. Didnt ever seem to help any. Changed the jets some and found the motor ran better with alot smaller jets than stock 86/93. Ended up at 78/88 with the power valve but still had a hesitation and rpm climb at part throttle. Went to tuning the carb after changing the 2 1/2' turbos with some 3' bullets and blocking the PV and 88's squared. Motor woke up a bunch. But still had the hesitation. Going over some carb tuning I tapped the front and rear pump arm at idle to see if rpm rose or fell. Rpm dropped as soon as i touched them. I felt maybe I need to try smaller quirters, 31's are in it. I checked the pump adjustment and was still set at .015 from bottom at full throttle. I then adjusted both pump screws a quarter turn in (more clearance) and 1/2 the hesitation went away, did another 1/4 on both and motor went to no hesitation and crisp with no rpm increase at part throttle. Did I simulate smaller suirters or misinterpret the pump arm adjustment. My question is the .015 clearance on the pump adjusment a minimum or a clearance to be set at .015. Not sure what has seemed to fix the issues i had. Will be able to find out more when the rain quits and can check it on the road.

When you turned the pump screws in , you changed the duration of the pump. The pump shot won't last as long. When you use your acceleration pumps it goes against the spring then and as the fuel comes out the spring catches up and goes against the arm. I am sure you will want your power valve back in there go with the 4.5 , your jet change was quite huge I cam not sure why you had to go that far. I don't like going more than 4 numbers jets .
