My 72 3/4 ton had a 505 bellhousing infront of a granny gear 4 speed. The bolt holes on my 1965 M20 seem to line up OK. I recall reading somewhere that the truck bell housings don't work with the passenger car transmissions.
Is that what I'm looking at here?
Would the M20 hold-up to a fair amount of abuse behind a 383 in the 3/4 ton truck (with a 4.10 geared Dana 60 rear)?
TIA, Wes

If you have a truck housing which has a hole that is larger than the front bearing retainer of the tranny, ALL you need to do is to buy one of the adapter rings and you're good to go. This adapter ring fills the gap between the front bearing retainer (such as a Muncie) and the hole of the housing. Once the adapter ring is properly positioned, it is a good idea to drill 2-3 holes through the adapter ring, tap threads and install set screws to hold the ring in place in the housing.

Tom, thank you for the help. Do you have a source for the adapter ring? Do you think the trans will survive an occasional clutch drop and power shift in a heavy truck? Wes

If your doing power shifting in a truck with a loaded camper on it and a bass boat in tow------------------it won't last long. :D

Thanks for the link Tom. Seeings how I don't have a bass boat, the trans should be fine.
