I am restoring a 72SS with guages, need a picture of the location of the horn relay on the drivers fender. And where to get a new one if possibile... thanks in advance...

I believe the horn relay on a '72 mounts on the firewall near the brake booster.
And they are next to impossible to find brand new! Been there...

that's exactly where the bolt up and i am looking for one myself. they have two bolts and mount to the firewall. let me know if you come across a supplier.

After a bit of research I found the following part numbers for '72 horn relay.
Delco D1775
Kem HR38
Borg Warner R244
Niehoff DR168L
Standard HR147

If you see any of these on ebay or at swap meets, consider getting one or more.

will one from a 71 work looks the same

71 is one year only.

72 is the only year that will fit and you won't find one new unless it's NOS. If you have an old one that's doesn't work, they are easy to fix. The problem could either be a broken wire in the coil, which could be soldered or re-wound, or dirty contacts on the relay. The problem with mine was just a broken wire. A dab of solder and five minutes work made it good as new.
