Getting ready to fire up....I was told today I need to change the wire from ignition switch direct to MSD box because the original points system retarded some voltage before it got to the coil. Is this true and whats involved?

Do you have a MSD-6 that is triggered by an HEI? If not exactly what set up are you using?

The original resistance wire dropped the voltage down to appx. 8 volts, replace the whole wire to kick it back up to 12 volts.
