: Twitchy tach

My tach is twitchy since I installed the XR-i points conversion. I tried using 1K through 10K resistances, as suggested in their literature, and it's still twitchy (I used a "decade box" so it wasn't at all difficult to try out many different resistance values in the circuit).

Anyway, I'm about to install an MSD 6AL, and I need to know what to do about the tach. I hate to have to buy their tach adapter, but I'll do it if I have to. Any other suggestions?

you probably have already done this, but make sure you have really really good grounds on everything.
