Hi, All,
I bought my '67 SS in 1971, and since the previous owner wanted to lift the front a bit (popular look at the time), a local dealer recommended and installed A/C front coils. First question is that I'm curious what the actual difference is between standard springs and those for vehicles with A/C (which mine doesn't have); are the A/C springs heavier, longer, or maybe both? Anyway, I've gotten to the point I want to drop the front down so that the vehicle will now have a more level, original profile, so would like to get recommendations as to the best way to do that. I know I could just buy factory springs and probably be ok, but am also considering (to save the cost of new springs) having some cut off these coils IF the A/C springs ARE actually a longer length than the standard springs. If I do that, is there a guideline as to how much cut off would equal 1", something like that? I imagine I'm looking to drop the front 2" - 3". THANKS!!!! :O)
