: Centrifugal Blower and EFI

Stll looking to decide on the right blower for my 67 Bigblock. Initial thoughts were for an 8-71 twin carbs, then an F-1 carb blow-through centrifugal. I was wondering if anyone has experience with a centrifugal with an EFI on a big block. Car will be the weekend crusier with an occasional trip to the track. Here are the particulars:

496 CI BBC - 4 bolt main
Forged crank pistons and H-beam rods (Eagle)
8.5:1 Polydyne coated pistons (main bearing as well)
320 CC Stage II ported and polished rectangular port iron Pro Topline heads (2.25 intake, 1.88 exhaust valves, double springs, titanium retainers)
Comp Cams Hydraulic roller 248/254 dur with .648/.648 lift at 114 LSA
TH400 trans (converter not yet selected)
4:30 gear
Backhalved with 33x21.5x15 MT Sportsman
Car will weigh in at ~3700 lbs
Plan to shift at 60-62 k

I know about the additional cost with the EFI. I would probably use a FAST system as I did on my 97 camaro SS. my specific questions:

Has anyone done this on the tall 502 Ramjet manafold?
Which other manafold/throttle bodies have been used.

Any thoughts would be appreciated.

I had one on a 468 and 540, but both were with single plane manifolds. One with a Holley EFI manifold and later with a modded Vic Jr for hood clearance. I also used FAST EFI. A tuner friend of mine is doing a centrifugal on a 70 Chevelle big block with the RamJet setup but are no where near the point of being able to tell you all the plumbing and fitment issues yet. I ran a standard 1000 cfm throttle body and a 75mm monoblade on mine. The mono-blade looked tricker and had better throttle response but power was similar at over 800 rwhp. These were both 91 octane pump gas engines, not race setups.

Can you tell me a bit more about the other aspects of the set up. Injector size, fuel rail diameters, etc., Did you run an aftercooler?

Who modified the Victor Jr. for you.

Thanks

Shannon,

I got the elbow from these guys:

Air Flow Systems (http://www.airflo.com/)

Chas67,

I had the intake modded by Force Fuel Injection (http://www.force-efi.com/)

They also set up the rails. Large i.d. I'd say 1/2"+ or so but I didn't measure them. I ran 95# injectors on that setup. I did not run an intercooler or aftercooler as I had A/C, RS headlight system, and other things in the way. I think you're better with no intercooler than one that's too small. I didn't want to cut everything up to fit the proper sized one in there.

I did run ceramic barrier coating on the pistons and water injection to be able to keep my timing with 91 octane and 15 psi of boost.

The one I used was for 3" i.d. They list them under rubber products off the main page. Click rubber, then numerous fittings. The 3" unit is a 90HL3 at about $9. each.

Sorry, it won't let me link to it directly.

Jody, he's talking about the cast aluminum intake elbow, it appears to be the 100* model.

thanks

www.teamprickracing.com (http://www.teamprickracing.com) DUH!!!!!!!!! Sorry guys! That 90 degree elbow came from Wilson Manifolds (http://www.wilsonmanifolds.com/)

I milled the bottom to get the extra angle needed to clear my hood.
