I Am Trying To Install The Factory Style Oil Sender On A 69 396 With Headers. The Car Had Aftermarket Gauges, And I Would Like To Use The Oem Ones. The Problem Is The Sender Is Large And Bulky. Is Ther Another Place I Could Relocate This Unit? Or Maybe Another Solution To This Problem.

I once ran an aftermarket wet line from the original location to the factory electric unit, made a band bracket out of sheet metal and bolted(thus grounding it) it to the transmission. Then ran the sender's wire to the gauge. Worked perfect and hide the ugly factory sender.

Try a 135 degree fitting. It will turn the sender in toward the block and you can rotate it to any angle. I got one at the local auto parts store.

That's what I did, went to a local hardward store and got a 45 degree fitting to change the angle the sender unit came off the block.

I agree 100% with the above 2 replies. Some of the bigger parts stores (especially the bigger NAPA stores) have a good selection of Weatherhead brand brass fittings. This is a common issue when installing headers on a BB. Buy a couple of brass fittings to angle the routing for the oil sender and you will be good to go. Tooooooooooooooooo easy!
