guy's is anyone running a vic jr on a sbc under a stock 65 chevelle hood? if so which air cleaners fit? thanks tom

I have a Vic Jr. on the SB in my 67 (should be the same hood height as your 65). With a 1" spacer I use a 3" Moroso filter (could fit a 3.5" if I found one). Without the spacer a 4" will fit.

that's good to hear, i am a little worried about crowding the top of the carb. i also thought a 65's hood sits lower than a 67, but am not sure. let's see who else answers.

It could be a bit lower. I don't know. I didn't mention that this is a dropped base air cleaner housing.

I had one on a 327 in my 65 . Fit under the hood fine. I used a drop base air cleaner assy.

'67 hoods are higher than '65 hoods. I don't know if your Vic Jr. will fit or not. I have an L79 with a tall intake, Holley carb and tall air cleaner and it fits but just barely. Is a Vic Jr. taller than an L79 intake? You could surely find an air cleaner that is a lower profile than the stock L79 unit!

I used a Super Victor,1/2 carb spacer and 2 1/2 filter on a drop base housing with the stock hood.
